Our Ministries

At Gethsemane Christian Church, ministry is at the heart of who we are. Each ministry is designed to serve, uplift, and guide individuals and families as they grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. There’s a place for everyone to connect, belong, and serve.

Family Ministry

Strong families build strong communities. Our Family Ministry supports marriages, parents, and children with resources, fellowship, and encouragement to live out God’s plan for the home.

Children’s Ministry

We believe in planting seeds of faith at an early age. Our Children’s Ministry provides a safe, fun, and engaging environment where kids learn about God’s love through age-appropriate lessons, worship, and activities.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

Youth Ministry

At Gethsemane Christian Church, our Youth Ministry is dedicated to nurturing the next generation through Christ-centered teaching, creativity, and fellowship. We offer engaging programs that help young people grow in their faith, develop leadership, and build lifelong friendships.

Our Youth Programs Include:

• Vacation Bible School (VBS): A fun and faith-filled summer experience for children and teens.
• Christmas & Resurrection Plays: Seasonal productions that allow youth to express their gifts through drama, music, and storytelling.
• Friday Family Fun Night: An opportunity for families to connect, play, and grow together in a safe, joyful environment.
• Youth Choir: Teaching young voices to worship God through music and ministry.
• Girls Are Pearls Ministry (Ages 3–17): Empowering young girls through mentorship, discipleship, and activities that build confidence and faith.
• C.O.R.E.: A youth-led ministry with the mission to build a strong, faith-filled youth community that encourages Christian fellowship, spiritual growth, and leadership rooted in biblical principles.
  • We provide meaningful opportunities for community outreach, giving our children a chance to get involved and make an impact. Through these experiences, we emphasize the importance of giving back while developing the skills and confidence they need to become the strong, capable leaders of tomorrow.

Senior’s Ministry

Our Senior Ministry honors and uplifts the wisdom and faith of our elders. Through fellowship, care, and opportunities for service, we walk alongside our seniors as they continue to grow and inspire others in the name of Christ.

“The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.” — Proverbs 16:31

Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry at Gethsemane Christian Church is dedicated to empowering women to grow in faith, walk in purpose, and support one another through Christ-centered fellowship.

Our ministry includes WWtWOW (Women Witnessing the Word of Wisdom), composed of three parts:

1. The Women’s Missionary Conference: Women of God sent to speak, teach, praise, pray, and exalt on the oracles of God Almighty, to Heal, Uplift and Empower Christian Women in the Power of the Holy Ghost and fire by a God Breathed experience in the Name of Jesus Christ! 
2. We also gather every 3rd Sunday of the month for the WWtWOW Study, a time to study the women of the bible whose acts of faith lead to blessings and those who lack the faith leading to destruction)
3. In addition, our partnership with the Soar Radio Show highlights women of God who are living out their calling with a virtuous walk in Jesus Christ—sharing their testimonies to inspire others.

Men’s Ministry

The Men’s Ministry equips men to grow in faith, lead with purpose, and strengthen one another through fellowship and worship. We gather every 3rd Saturday of the month for fellowship, Bible teaching, and meaningful discussion through the Bible and Christian book studies. Men also connect through our Men’s Choir, where they come together to worship and minister through song.

Outreach Ministry

The Outreach Ministry shares Christ’s love through service and community connection. From our recent Turkey Drive to our support of RocVale Children’s Home—a residential program for children with intellectual disabilities and high-behavioral support needs—we strive to meet practical needs while spreading the hope of the Gospel.

Through prayer, service projects, and ongoing outreach, we work to be a light in our community and reflect Christ’s compassion.

Missionary & Evangelizing

The Missionary & Evangelizing Ministry is committed to sharing the Gospel through service, compassion, and intentional outreach. We bring the love of Christ to those in need—both within our community and beyond—by meeting people where they are and offering hope, prayer, and support.

Our ministry serves in a variety of impactful areas, including: Our ministry serves in a variety of impactful areas, including:
Carpenters Place – supporting individuals experiencing homelessness with care, resources, and encouragement.

Rockford Rescue Mission – offering Christ-centered compassion through service and outreach.

Home and Hospice Care – providing prayer, comfort, and presence to individuals and families during critical times.

Prison Outreach – bringing the message of salvation, restoration, and second chances to those incarcerated.

Through each of these efforts, we strive to reflect Christ’s heart and lead others toward a life-changing relationship with Him.

International Partnerships

The Gospel has no borders. Through our international outreach and partnerships, we connect with believers around the world, supporting missions and building relationships that reflect the global body of Christ.
